What you will do
Explore the history and engineering of the Panama Canal at the Miraflores Locks Tour Center for about an hour and a half. Watch the massive locks in action and the ships move and then visit the on-site museum. Learn about the impressive challenges faced by the builders of the Panama Canal and how they ended up completing a feat of engineering. We will either start with this tour or end our day with this tour, depending on the time of the tour you choose as well as the boat traffic in the locks at that time.
Our Panama Canal Jungle Boat trip is one of the best excursions from Panama City, this is the most comfortable and accessible way to discover the natural attributes of the Panama Canal watershed within a short time period in Panama-City including layovers in the airport or cruise ships ! We will pick you up at your hotel in Panama City and head to Soberanía National Park where our Captain will be waiting for us at the public dock of Gamboa located on the shore of the Chagres River. We will start our journey in the Gatun Lake (Panama Canal) passing by huge ships transiting the Panama Canal and then arriving at a group of protected islands (called Monkey Islands) and will have the opportunity to observe the white-face monkeys, howler monkeys, Geoffrey´s tamarinds, sloths, birds, crocodiles and iguanas from our boat. Gatun Lake is located within an immensely diverse tropical ecological zone and is surrounded by untouched exotic rainforest, you will love this private experience !
