Rainforest Discovery Center – Your Nature Adventure in Gamboa

What you will do

Start your day early—departure must be at 6:30 AM or earlier—to make the most of the rainforest when wildlife is most active. We will pick you up at your hotel in Panama City and drive approximately 45 minutes to Gamboa, at the edge of Soberanía National Park.

Please note: This is not a guided tour with a nature specialist by default. If you’d like to enhance your experience with an expert guide, this may be possible on site for an additional fee, but availability is not guaranteed

Once there, you’ll enjoy walking along the trails and relaxing at the Visitor Center, where hummingbirds and other species are frequently seen. The highlight is the 174-step spiral staircase observation tower, with resting platforms every 8 meters, leading to a 32-meter-high deck above the forest canopy—perfect for panoramic views and birdwatching.

The Panama Rainforest Discovery Center is an ecotourism and environmental education project dedicated to bird conservation and sustainability.
