Get ready for an unforgettable adventure that begins at 3:20 a.m., when we pick you up at your hotel in Boquete. From there, we head to the entrance of Volcán Barú National Park, where the thrilling ascent in a 4×4 vehicle to the summit of Panama’s highest volcano begins.
During the journey, you’ll pass through mist-covered mountain landscapes until you reach the summit just in time to witness the sunrise from the highest point in the country. On clear days, you’ll have the privilege of seeing both oceans—the Pacific and the Atlantic—from a single spot, along with views of Bocas del Toro and Costa Rica.

Guest Requirements
- Departure time: 3:20 a.m. from your hotel in Boquete. Get ready for an early start!
- Total tour duration: Approximately 7 to 8 hours, including ascent, sunrise, breakfast, and return.
- 4×4 ascent: 13.5 km uphill with a positive elevation gain of 1,800 meters. The ride takes about 2 hours.
- Weather at the summit: Temperatures can drop below 0°C. It is recommended to bring thermal clothing, a hat, gloves, and a waterproof jacket.
- Road conditions: The route is demanding, with dirt roads and steep slopes.
- Altitude: The summit of Volcán Barú is at 3,475 meters above sea level, so mild altitude symptoms such as dizziness or fatigue may occur.
