What you will do
Discover the Majesty of Kiki Waterfall
Nestled in the heart of the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca, Kiki Waterfall is one of the tallest and most awe-inspiring waterfalls in Panama, with over 100 meters of free fall. This hidden gem in the Soloy community invites you to experience something truly unique; surrounded by lush nature, ancestral culture, and breathtaking landscapes.
Whether in summer or winter, the waterfall offers an unforgettable spectacle. During the rainy season, its flow intensifies, revealing its full power and beauty, while in the dry season, the surroundings become more accessible for exploration and relaxation.
The Ngäbe Buglé Comarca, established in 1997, spans the provinces of Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí, and Veraguas. This indigenous territory is home to the Ngäbe and Buglé peoples, who preserve their traditions, beliefs, and deep connection to nature. Its capital is Llano Tugrí (Buabïti), and the region is rich in natural wonders such as cloud forests, beaches, rivers, and, of course, waterfalls.
Among the natural jewels of the comarca are Kiki Waterfall and Chochorí Waterfall, both towering over 100 meters high. Surrounded by untouched jungle, muddy trails, and spectacular views, these waterfalls will make you feel small in the face of nature’s grandeur.
An Adventure That Connects You to What Matters Most
Your journey begins in a 4×4 vehicle along rocky and muddy roads to the community of Cerro Blanco. There, a local guide will welcome you and share stories, legends, and the spiritual significance of the waterfall to their people.
The hike to the waterfall takes about 30 minutes along a trail that winds through trees and slopes. While some sections require the use of ropes, the path is family-friendly and doesn’t demand high physical fitness.
As you get closer, the sound of rushing water grows louder, and the sight of the waterfall through the trees will leave you speechless. You can admire it from its base or climb to the top to see the water plunge into the void. Behind the curtain of water, a small cave offers a unique and thrilling perspective.
